Argentina Travel - Glacier Perito Moreno
PERITO MORENO GLACIER VACATION
The Perito Moreno Glacier is a glacier located in the Los Glaciares National Park of Argentina. This glacier is particularly famous because of its impressive dimensions and its continuous downward movement, which produces accumulation and rupture of huge pieces of ice. It has a front of 5 km with a height above the lake level of 60 to 70 meters. It is about 30 km long and covers a surface area of 250 square kilometers (40 km2 more than the surface of Argentina's capital city, Buenos Aires). It was named after the explorer Francisco Moreno, a pioneer that studied the region in the 19th century.

TIERRA DEL FUEGO ARGENTINA TRAVEL
Tierra del Fuego is an archipelago at the southernmost tip of South America. In 1881 it was divided between Argentina and Chile. The archipelago consists of a main island (Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego, often called Tierra del Fuego as well), and a group of smaller islands. It is separated from the continent by the Strait of Magellan. The southern point of the archipelago, in Chile, forms Cape Horn.

PENINSULA VALDES ARGENTINA VACATION
Peninsula Valdés is an important nature reserve which was listed as World Heritage Site by the UNESCO in 1999. The coastline is inhabited by marine mammals, like eared seals and elephant seals. Southern right wales can be found in the Golfo Nuevo between the peninsula and the Patagonian mainland. These baleen whales come here during the second half of the year, for mating and reproduction, because the water in the gulf is more quiet and warmer than in the open sea. Orcas can be found off the coast, in the open sea off the peninsula. The inner part of the peninsula is inhabited by nandus, guanacos and maras.
