Day 1 - Arrival in Lima Peru - Peru Travel starts here
Reception at the International Airport in Lima, assistance with your baggage and private transportation to your hotel. OVERNIGHT IN LIMA
Day 2 – Lima, Peru
Today we will enjoy a tour visiting the Unique Vice-Royal mansion (XVIII century), built on top of an archaeological pyramid (VII century). Surrounded by beautiful gardens.
Its masterworks are the worldwide icons in Pre-Columbian art, after have been exhibited for 80 years in the world’s leading museums. This famous museum has the largest and finest gold, silver and jewelry collection of ancient Peru. Its Erotic art collection is one of the most visited Peruvian tourist attractions. Didactic galleries, full of highlights, make easier the comprehension of 3000 years of the Peruvian Pre-Columbian history. OVERNIGHT IN LIMA
Day 3 – From Lima to Cuzco - Peru
In the morning private transportation from your hotel in Lima to the Jose Chavez airport on time for your next flight to Cuzco. Reception and private transportation from the Cuzco Airport to your hotel.
Upon arrival reception, assistance and transfer to the hotel. Visitors should take a short rest in order to adjust to altitude.
In the afternoon a walking tour to experience the mystery of the Cathedral, Temple of the Sun, the famous twelve sided stone, narrow streets with the finest walls as example of Inca Architecture, and the San Blas suburb, the residence of the best artists since the colony. OVERNIGHT IN CUZCO
Day 4 – Inca Trail from Cuzco to Llaqtapata - Peru
Morning transfer from your hotel in Cuzco to Chillca for the beginning of your trek at the Kilometer 77 . Five hour walk to the Llaqtapata ruins located 3,200 meters above sea level, with rest stops along the way. At arrival we will explore the ruins. Box Lunch and Dinner are included. CAMPING OVERNIGHT
Day 5 – Inca Trail from Llaqtapata to Llulluchapampa - Peru
Following the Kusicancha River, the trail leads to Wayllabamba, a quiet village of Inca origin and the last main settlement on the Inca trail route before Machu Picchu. After lunch, commence the ascent up the Warmiwañusca pass to the campsite at Llulluchapampa at 3,200 meters above sea level (11,800 ft.) 12.20 kilometers in 5 hours (6.5 miles). Box Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are included. CAMPING OVERNIGHT
Day 6 – Inca Trail from Llulluchapampa to Puyupatamarca - Peru
Today will be our longest day trekking the Inca Trail with a 15.2 kilometer in approximately 8 to 9 hours (9.5 miles). Continue up the Warmiwañusca pass to the valley of the Pacaymayo River with its tropical vegetation.
After crossing the Runkurakay pass (3,987 meters. – 13,000 ft.), the jungle becomes visible on the slopes of the mountains. The trail continues through high jungle with vines, exotic flowers and an Inca tunnel across a bridge above the lovely Puyupatamarca ruins. The views of the Urubamba river and the snow-capped peaks of the Veronica and Salkantay, make these ruins one of the most beautiful places on the trail. Box Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are included. Day 7 – Inca Trail from Puyupatamarca to Machu Picchu - Peru
Wake up early for breakfast and start descending to Wiñaywayna ruins at an altitude of 2,599 meters or 8,500 ft above sea level. A small Inca city which, like Machu Picchu, was abandoned for unknown reasons.
Reach Intipunku, the gate of the Sun in time for lunch and to enjoy the fantastic view of the lost city itself, Machu Picchu set in a grandiose landscape that amazes all spectators. Walk down to the valley floor to camp in Puente Ruinas. Today trek will be 8.96 km. in a 5-hour walk (5.6 miles). Option to visit Aguas Calientes and its hot springs. Box Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are included. CAMPING OVERNIGHT
Day 8 – Inca Trail – Arrival in Machu Picchu - Peru
Today we will visit the fantastic stone edification of Machu Picchu, probably the most outstanding feat of engineering in all ancient America. Temples, stairways, palaces and gabled stone dwellings are scattered everywhere, testifying to the energy and ingenuity of the builders. Transfer to your hotel in Machu Picchu for and relaxing and peaceful night. OVERNIGHT IN MACHU PICCHU
Day 9 – From Machu Picchu to Cuzco - Peru
Free morning to enjoy a great breakfast at your hotel in Machu Picchu.
In the afternoon transfer to the train station for your 3 ½ hour journey back to Cuzco. OVERNIGHT IN CUZCO
Day 10 – From Cuzco to Lima, Peru
Breakfast and free morning in Cuzco. In the early afternoon, private transportation to the airport for your next flight to Lima and immediate connection with your international flight back home.
